Life is Beautiful

I have to remind myself very often that Life is Beautiful under any circumstances. As a human being, the momeries of painful experience seem to stay longer than those of happy ones. That is purely because the brain was stimulated more by the painful experience. However, the dreams, the impossible dreams bring me many joyful moments and drove me to achieve.
I always thought that I was living in the future, chasing the dreams, achieving my goals until the reality hit me. I struggled through all different ways to get out where I thought that I did not belong. I failed miserably. The past experience certainly changed the way I look at the life. It took me a while to readjust myself. Still, I am not there yet. However, I am working very hard on it.
Every morning, I tell myself that I am happy to be here and wish that everything has passed me.

Weekend Drive!!!

Just waiting for the weekend to come so that i just take my car and go zoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmm for a long drive!!!!

Hello !!!!

Is it true, Another 24hrs have almost past??

You have to be kidding. Its almost the end of February, and the days aren't slowing up any. :(

Anyways, went to work today morning, had a pretty good time. Came home, played some games with some of the family , and now yep you guessed ..one of my FAVORITE places to be ~ The COMPUTER!

None of my chat friends are on right now, but thats ok. I know some people actually lead a life. :P

Humm...Deee..Dummm... what else?

Oh yeah, the weather was pretty nice again today(like Tshirt weather) , but tomorrow it isn't supposed to get out of the 37's, and there is a chance for a slight shower, if not, there will at least be more sunshine. *sigh*, sooooo, we'll see!

By the way everyone, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Drive Safe: While on my way to work, I saw a car that was flipped upside down, and was lying on its top.

:( I have no clue how it happened, or anything else about it. But my prayers go out to all involved, and the families....

See, another reason why I say Life is to short to sweat the small stuff. Don't get worked up over things that aren't that important. ;)Well its now Saturday ~Feb 26th!!

I best be shutting my mouth now, hehe. I'll post sometime. I work tomorrow from 6am-2pm, soo it will probably be tomorrow afternoon!Take Care!

Have A GREAT day, and a TERRIFIC Weekend! !! YAY!!

Chinese

One beautiful December evening
Huan Cho and his girlfriend Jung Lee were sitting by the side of the ocean.
It was a romantic fullmoon, when Huan Cho said "Hey baby, let's play Weeweechu."
"Oh no, not now, lets look at the moon" said Jung Lee.
"Oh, c'mon baby, let's you and I play Weeweechu. I love you and it's the perfect time,"
Huan Cho begged."But I'd rather just hold your hand and watch the moon."
"Please Jung Lee, just once... play Weeweechu with me.
"Jung Lee looked at Huan Chi and said, "OK, we'll play Weeweechu."
Huan Cho grabbed his guitar and they both sang.....
"Weeweechu a Merry Christmas,Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year."
Moral of the story ---- "A cheerful heart is good medicine..."

Today was a funny day...Today was also a gr8 day....Today was also a sad day...Today was also a very good day......And why, today I apped to a company that came on campus.....the second one that i did.....It was a small s/w company that specializes in providing mobile platforms and with quiet a decent clientele at that....The main thing funny was that there were hardly 30 odd people while the going number for any job here is atleast a 100 :p .....The gr8 thing was that I found myself short-listed, which compounded my cerebral issues....to go or not to go....And when i finally took the decision of sitting for the process, something sad happened.....The process was a short interview of close to 10mins.....Yours truly truly believes he had had a fab intv, was told so by the interviewer too.....Now this is way too much coincidence for me.....and the fact that the guy from the company actually went on to discuss the compensation package and position for me meant the day was supposed to end on good.......And sure it did end good.....Was dinged by the time i returned home......I live to survive another interview, another day, another job, another company !!! Move on....... :)

And talkin of funny things, we also had Tata Teleservices yesterday......And new-comers to the campus were sure made to believe it was a jamboree of sorts with those folks plastering every single wall with posters promoting their mobile services !!! Pretty pretty funny i thought.....Strange indeed are the ways of promotion.... :)

Life's like that guys

On a day like today !!

Sometimes you just can’t believe that you’re actually hearing what he’s saying.

Sometimes it feels like a dream.

Sometimes you cry yourself to sleep.

Sometimes you love someone so much that you lose yourself.

Sometimes you try to talk, but your voice shakes so much you just have to stop.

Sometimes you feel so alone it takes your breath away.

Sometimes you think that it wasn't supposed to end this way.

Sometimes you think that truly his heart was made of icing.

Sometimes you think you can love someone enough. but you can’t. it doesn’t work that way.

Sometimes you're so angry that your throat closes up and you feel dizzy.

Sometimes you feel like an idiot, because you thought things had gotten better.

Sometimes you wonder if other people can tell, just by looking at you, that your heart is broken into a million tiny pieces.

Sometimes a song makes you cry. even though it never made you cry before.

Sometimes you sit in your car in the parking lot while the song plays and you cry so hard you can’t breathe.

Sometimes you think that if you could just sit in your car for the rest of the day and play that song over and over, you’d cry so long and so hard that you’d get it all out of your system, and you’d be whole again.

Sometimes you know that even if you sat in your car for the rest of the day, it just wouldn't be
long enough.

Sometimes there just aren't enough hours hours in the day.

Whats wrong with me today...

Heights of Miscommunication

Mr.Sharma comes home one night, and his wife throws her arms around his neck:
"I have great news: I'm a month overdue. I think we're going to have a baby! The doctor gave me a test today, but until we find out for sure, wecan't tell anybody."
The next day, Mrs.Sharma receives a telephone call from AEC (AhmedabadElectric Company) because the electricity bill has not been paid.
" Am I speaking to Mrs.Sharma ? "
"Yes...... speaking"AEC guy,
"You're a month overdue, you know!"
"How do YOU know?" stammers the young woman.
"Well, ma'am, it's in our files!" says the AEC guy .
"What are you saying? It's in your files ...... HOW ?????"
" Yes ............. We have a system of finding out who's overdue "
" GOD !!!!!!......... this is too much.........."
"Madam, I am sorry...... I am following orders.... I have to inform you are overdue"
"I know that ....... let me talk to my husband about this tonight..... he will speak to your company tomorrow"
That night, she tells her husband about the visit, and he, mad as a bull, rushes to AEC office the next day morning.
"What's going on? You have it on file that my wife is a month overdue? What business is that of yours?" the husband shouts
"Just calm down,"says the lady at the reception at AEC,
"it's nothing serious. All you have to do is pay us."
"PAY you? and if I refuse?"
"Well, in that case, sir, we'd have no option but to cut yours off."
"And what would my wife do then?" the husband asks.
"I don't know. I guess she'd have to use a candle!!!"

Sales Experience!!

The manager asks, "Do you have any sales experience?"
The Indian says, "Yeah, I was a salesman back home".
Well, the manager liked the young man, so he gave him the job.
"You start tomorrow. I'll come down after we close and see howyoudid, but let me give you a bit of advice.
If a customer comeslooking, say, for toothpaste, you might suggest for him a toothbrush, orshavingcream etc. You get the idea?"
"Of course," the young man said.
His first day on the job was rough but he got through it.After the store was locked up, the manager came down.
"How manysalesdid you make today?
The Indian says, "One"
The manager groans, "Just one? Our sales people avg 20 or 30sales/day.How much was the sale for?"
The Indian says, "$101,237.64."
The manager exclaims, "What? $101,237.64? What did you sell him!?"
The Indian replied, "First I sold him a small fish hook. Then Isoldhim a medium fishhook. Then I sold him a larger fishhook. Then I sold him a new fishing rod. Then I asked him where he was going fishing, and he said down at the coast, so I told him he was going to need a boat, so we went down to the boat department, and I sold him that twin engine Chris Craft. Then he said he didn't think his Honda Civic would pull it, so I took him down to the automotive department andsoldhimthat 4X4 Pajero."
The manager says "You mean a guy came in here to buy a fish hookandyou sold him a boat and truck?!"
The Indian says, "No, no, no, he came in here to buy a box of cotton for himself as his mother in loaw was home... and I said,"Well, since your weekend's already screwed up you might as well go fishing."

Food in mind

i've been thinking alot about food today. not that that fact makes today much different from any other day, but today not only will i think about it -- i shall write about it! so...i love food. alot. pretty much all food. i mean, like everyone, i guess i have my food hang-ups. although i've gotten over a couple of them very recently. thanks to a mix-up at the sandwich shop across the street from my office ...i am now okay with eating raw tomatoes and olives. the universe works in mysterious ways. since the reconciliation between me and the olives, i've even gone so far as to have them in my house. sometimes the world is filled with so much beauty i can hardly stand it. well, beauty and olives.
so...food. it's a big deal to me. huge, really. i love to eat food. i love to cook food. i love to share food. i find comfort in food, and alot of my most cherished memories are inextricably linked to food. diwali is a perfect example. the bonding that took place in my grandmother's kitchen the night before diwali was an important part of my life. typically, my grandma, my mother, and my favorite aunt would spend the entire evening -- until after midnight -- in the kitchen. laughing, talking, and preparing the diwali meal and sweets...
i also learned alot about love and family and affection in that kitchen. i remember how it smelled, and how the windows steamed up as the night time air grew colder and the old gas oven grew warmer. i remember the sound of my gran's old stove, and the laughter of my mom and my aunt as they ganged up to make fun of their mom. those times, those memories, are what i think of when i hear the word "family." i miss those nights.
these days, it is food that has facilitated the healing of old wounds between dad and me. when i cook for my family, it is always my father who is loudest with praise, who never fails to go back for seconds. am i a good cook? yes. but, even when the dish isn't up to restaurant fare, my father shoos away my doubts and raves. and, of course, many of the dishes i prepare i choose specifically with my father in mind. i'm still that young girl trying to please him and win his approval. and, i think it is an unspoken understanding between us. i think he sees me reaching out, and has, in turn reached out himself in apology to me, showering me now with all the praise he never gave me then.
there are days when i wish i didn't love food so much. but, nothing lifts the spirits like a big steaming bowl of real mashed potatoes with curds and the the tangy flavour of the chat masala, and, unfortunately, i'm a gal who needs her spirits lifted often enough to make an undeniable impact on my ass. i was thinking today about turning over yet another new leaf. making a concerted effort to visit the gym regularly; suddenly, i felt sad. i realized that i do want those things...but i want my mashed potatoes, too.
oh, i could go on for days. my old fav maggi with roasted chicken in it.... . a rare steak. mexican dishes.... . grapes...cutlets... . but i guess i'll just say that life is too short, in my estimation, to give up the things you love. so, while i have committed to myself this february day to tackle my body with the same zest and enthusiasm i have for mashed potatoes...i'm not giving up the potatoes, either.

How boring can it get

the saddest thing i've heard all day you may already know that i live and work in the bannerghatta rd area.... this morning, as i walked past the cafeterai, i heard the following conversation.
granted, it was only 8:45 when i heard it, but i gotta feeling it's going to take the title for the whole damn day.
doorman #1: "hey man, how's it going?"
doorman #2: "good, man, how 'bout you?"
doorman #1: "good...good. hey, man, anybody get shot yet today?"
doorman #2: "no, not yet. probably tonight, though."these are sad times.

To my Grandfather

Clouds are forming in the sky;

I feel like I could lie down and cry.

I miss all the things we used to do,

But knowing that I can't

Makes me realize

How much I loved you.

Family reunions won't be the same;

I miss you so much.

Only time could stop this pain.

I hope you had a wonderful life,

In spite of all those useless fights;

And when it rains

I'll think only of you.

There would just be one thing

I would do;

I'll get a picture of you and sit on my bed,

And my thoughts would only be of you -

Because in my opinion you are not dead.

All the family misses you,

And I do too.

I can't wait for that one day

When I would be reunited with

You.

Reminiscing!!!

I remember how it used to be

When I had you by my side.

I remember the nights you kept me warm

And I still feel the love that never died.

I remember the smile you wore

That always made my heart race.

I remember the smoothness of your skin,

And every single line of your face.

I remember the comfort of your presence

When I had nowhere else to go.

I remember the warm spring memories

And watching all the flowers grow.

I remember the cold winter days

When even the ice melted at your touch.

I remember the autumn drives,

And watching the leaves change...

you enjoyed it so much.

I remember the long summer evenings

When your laughter filled the air.

I remember the love I have for you,

but now you're gone...and it's just not fair.

Gray is the true neutral color. Its energy imparts void, emptiness, lack of movement, emotion, warmth and identifying characteristics. Because of this, gray can be restful. It has a detached and isolated feeling. Gray can have a cooling effect when placed next to other more vibrant colors. It has a stabilizing effect, making vibrant colors stand out while muting their vibration.
to emphasize your willingness to comply,a neutral, non-invasive feeling ,to reduce the intense energy of another color ,to feel detached or isolated .

BLACK

"Black" is a new movie that has been released here in India. It is 75% an english movie and the rest of it is in Hindi. I saw this movie yesterday evening in the theater and was spellbound. This 2 hour and 15 mins movie took me through a journey of various emotions a human being can feel or go through. Highly fascinated by the movie. The acting done by every single actor or actress in the movie was just amazing. I am sure that you would not find even a single... not even a single mistake or flaw in this movie. The movie was a masterpiece.
Black.....whats the first thing that strikes your mind when u think of the color black. i asked this question to a few people and the answer they gave me was a dark night.. a black sky..darkness..everything blank.
Dictionary says " A stain; a spot; That which is destitute of light or whiteness; the darkest color sullenly;threateningly; maliciously; so as to produce blackness; The part of a thing which is distinguished from the rest by being black;Destitute of light, or incapable of reflecting it; of the color of soot or coal; of the darkest or a very dark color, the opposite of white; characterized by such a color"
Black is the most misunderstood color. A black tie dinner is very formal and elegant. Women can wear that "must have little black dress" to the black tie dinner. Yet the bad guys wear black hats. Black symbolizes death in some cultures. Saturday's color is black.
But what does the color black mean to a person who cannot see, cannot hear and cannot speak. The world of a blind person is Black. It means nothing and says nothing.
The feeling of being born blind, cant see things can hear anything cant speak anything. How would that child know what the world is made of, how does she look, how do her parents look like. How does the world look. But for her the world is Black. The darkest most inexpressible thoughts acquire shape in Bhansali's tortured and yet incredibly beautiful realm of self-expression.

Michelle McNally is the daughter of an Anglo-Indian family, who becomes deaf and blind after an illness she gets at the age of eighteen months. She is a bright, intelligent girl who lives in a world of black silence with no way of reaching out. This frustrates the young girl's mind, which urges to communicate. This frustration leads her to be destructive, violent and given to rages. But her destiny has something else in store.
48-year-old Debraj Sahai (Amitabh Bachchan) is an eccentric, alcoholic man who is consumed by his profession of being a teacher to the deaf-blind. The school at which he teaches asks him to leave because of his drinking and failing eyesight. The principal of the school, who is an old friend of Debraj, believes in his ability and sends him to the McNally house to teach the eight year old girl Michelle McNally.
Debraj's arrival at the McNally home is far from auspicious. He arrives in a state of being drunk, angry and rude.
On encountering Michelle, Debraj realizes that the only way to tackle her is to shock her, be aggressive with her and at the same time tender. Michelle is not like the other students, so ordinary methods do not apply to her.
His unorthodox approach is met with opposition from the father and Michelle, who with her fiery nature gives back as good as she gets. In spite of all this Debraj succeeds and miraculously she makes the connection with name and meaning and learns her first word " Water". It is then that Debraj realises that Michelle can recongnise words and can feel this world. But this is not the end; there is still a long way in this extraordinary journey and several battles to fight.
Michelle's sister, Sarah, gets married. Debraj tells her everything that the priest tells to the bride and the groom, finally in the end Debraj tells Michelle that " Priest has told the groom to kiss the bride". Michelle asks on the cheek and Debraj replies " No" and keeps Michelles Fingers on her lips. Michelle keeps quiet and wonders y. Later she Speaks to Debraj about it and he tells her that She will never get the pleasure of having a relationship with any guy. Michelle cries and asks Debraj to make her feel like a woman once. He doesnt want to, but he does. He kisses her and before Michelle realises what she had done was not correct, Debraj has gone.
Debraj's dream for Michelle is for her to lead a normal life, which includes going to a normal college with normal students.Debraj and Michelle share the same dream of seeing Michelle in the Black graduation robe. They used to go to the classes togeather. Debraj used to sit next to her and used to explain her the sessions that the teachers used to take in the class. One year.. 2 years..3 years..4 years..She could not make it.She knew the answers but her typing spped on the machine for the Braille machine. But obstacles are in her way as Alzheimer's attacks Debraj and he slowly forgets everything, all words, and all meanings.
It is Michelle who later tries to get Debraj back to the real world so that she can get her teacher back who taught her the first word "Water".
Just like the way a ant climbs a mountain, A tortoise crosses the desert Michelle makes the impossible thing possible by getting graduated from a University where the normal child studied. For a normal child it takes 20 years to complete graduation. But Michelle took 40 years, but then she achieved. She had a dream, that Debraj shoudl be the first one to see her in Black Graduation robe. And she makes it true.. not 20 but 40 yrs but she achieves it. She made the world realise that there is no such word called Impossible when u have the stride to achieve it. They joy, the tears of happiness, make u melt.. just like the way Debraj once says in the movie " Life is like an icecream, enjoy it before it melts"
Where ever you are u got to see this movie. U would love it.
The film actually belongs to Amitabh Bachchan. It's impossible to imagine any actor playing Debraj, the tutor of manic proportions raging into the darkness like a Shakespearean tragic-hero.To say this is Bachchan's finest ever isn't enough. For, what he has done with his character in "Black" is to endow Indian cinema with a flavour of flamboyant excellence, unparalleled by anything we've seen any actor from any part of the world do or say...I say 'say' because the way Bachchan has used that well-known baritone has to be heard to be believed. Dropping his voice to a whisper he raises it again to challenge destiny, and toast immortality.
Rani Mukherjee as the blind and deaf protagonist looks and acts as though she was born specially to do what she has to in "Black". Bhansali is no stranger to performing magical tricks with his performers. But what he has done with Rani is immortalise her, entomb her in a shimmering shrine of glorious revelations. Michelle's unseeing eyes become the window to the actress' untapped potential. Under Bhansali's direction, Mukherjee opens the petals of her histrionics to give one of the most nuanced performances by a female actor.
Every actor big or small creates an impression of imperishable excellence. Shernaz Patel as Michelle's agonised mother and Nandana Sen as the jealous but kind sister, are just flawless. But the little girl playing the young Michelle steals many a critical scene from the players. Besides its many other unheard-of virtues, "Black" gives us an extraordinary little actress in Ayesha Kapoor.
"Black" isn't a film that we can categorise or classify. It creates a new genre, which can tentatively be called Pain-Sublime. Rays of light pierce the black darkness of the protagonist's life and permeate into our lives to bathe us in a feeling of rapturous contentment rarely experienced in cinema before.

It hurts....

I feel so awkward.. so devastated.. so bad today.. i feel as if the world has come to an end... though it is something not related to me.. but then it hurts.. it really does.. after a long gap,i spoke to my friend. We were not in touch for a long long time.Time and distance, moved us apart.Came to know last night that her father had expired. We shared everything.. our sorrows our joys.. he was fine.. all of a sudden. It just happpened.........it hurts...
When someone dies, everyone feels their own mortality. Although we aren't as exposed to death as our parents and grandparents are, it's nevertheless important to understand what to say and do when it does happen.
Whether you're going through the death of a colleague, a friend or a family member, It just hurts....after a long time i finaly got her number and then got this news. Its just something that i couldnt take it easily.I am always scared of death. When i think about myself... about my death.. i have nothing to say..I just wonder what a person would be thinking . those last few seconds when he/she realises that it time to say farewell.. what would be running in the persons mind at that last one second..i dont know ... but it really is something that is not easy for me to take it.. imagine the loss that she must have gone through ans is still going through... so deep and so intense.. it hurts !!!!!

Health Tip 5: Stranded in Snow

You've become stuck while trying to make it home through a winter storm.

Now what do you do?

Foremost, stay in your car, advises the Medical College of Wisconsin. Don't leave to look for help unless help is visible within 100 yards.

Here are additional suggestions:

*Display a trouble sign. Tie a brightly colored cloth on the radio antenna and, if the engine is already cold, raise the hood.
*Move anything you need from the trunk into the passenger area, then wrap your body in whatever is handy to help maintain body heat.
*Try not to stay in one position for too long. As you sit, improve your circulation by performing minor exercises like clapping or moving your arms and legs.
*Run the motor and car heater for about 10 minutes per hour, opening one downwind window slightly to let in air. Keep the tailpipe clear of snow to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.

Health Tip 4: Aquariums Can Make You Sick

Fish, toads, frogs and other sea creatures may be fun to keep in your home, but they can make some people sick.

A germ called mycobacterium -- often present in aquarium water -- can cause illness among people with weak immune systems, such as those who have AIDS, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says.

Very young children, the elderly and people with other chronic illnesses may also be susceptible, the CDC says.

Health Tip 3: Skate Safely

Ice skating is a fun way to spend winter and get some great exercise. The National Safety Council offers suggestions on how to stay safe on the ice:

*Wear skates that fit comfortably yet provide enough ankle support.
*Have the blades professionally sharpened at the beginning of each season.
*If skating on a pond or lake, skate only on designated areas where you are sure the ice is strong enough to withstand your weight.
*Always be wary of cracks, holes and debris on the ice.
*Wear warm clothing and rest when you become tired or cold.

Health Tip 2: Airplane Exercise

With airlines reigning in their budgets, more leg room for travelers is unlikely to be on a company's agenda soon, despite all the talk about economy class syndrome.

So to keep your blood flowing, especially during long airplane flights, the American Physical Therapy Association recommends you:

Take a walk down the aisle every hour or so.
Do in-seat exercises every half-hour, such as heel lifts, toe lifts and ankle rotations. Repeat each movement 10 times.

Health Tip 1 : Fake Nails Can Lead to Real Infections

Some women think artificial nails do wonders for their appearance. But whether applied at home or by a professional, artificial nails can lead to bacterial and fungal infections, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration warns.
A bump to a long artificial nail may cause it to lift from the natural nail at the base, leaving an opening for dirt and bacteria. If the nail is reglued without being properly cleaned, bacteria or fungi may grow between the nail and spread into the natural nail.
Also, a fungal infection can take hold when an acrylic nail is left in place too long -- three months or more -- and moisture accumulates under the nail.
Symptoms of an infection include pain, redness, itching and pus in or around the nail. If the nail becomes infected, the artificial product should be removed and the area cleaned thoroughly with soap and water. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.

Mere Words

I searched among the card displays,To see if I could find,
A little something that would say,Just what was on my mind.

However there was not a one,That captured it just right,
For no one else can understand,Just what I'd like to write.

I even find it difficult; To try to write it down,
For how do I portray to you,The love that I have known?

I close my eyes and what I see,Is someone I adore;
A person who is so true,Right down into their soul.

Mere words cannot describe; The many qualities you show,
The love and caring nature that,You share with those who know.

Your kind and gentle temperament,Your sweet angelic smile,
Your softly spoken sentiments,That reach across the miles.

Your smile and laugh that sparkle with; The softness of your sighs,
That twinkle in your eye.

The loving gestures through the years,That quickly come to mind,
For always you've a gentle word;To calm and soothe I find.

I struggle and I search to try,To find some words anew ...
And yet I cannot capture,All the things that make you you.

I shall therefore, be satisfied,That you must simply know,
Just how I feel about you,For with words I cannot show.

Can Ex-couples Stay Friends?

For a long time, divorce and separation were terms laden with ugliness, bitterness and resentment. It was impossible to conceive of estranged couples that could even bear to look at each other, leave alone be friends. But like every other relationship, this equation has also undergone a metamorphosis.

It is true that divorce rates have spiraled to an amazing proportion the world over, including in India. And yet, the silver lining in this dark cloud is the fact that most couples these days do not sever ties to the point of no return. They prefer to stay friends.

The recent break-up of Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt and Friends star Jennifer Aniston, goes on to reinforce the changing trend. Even though the couple separated after seven years of marriage, they refused to indulge in mudslinging. “We happily remain committed and caring friends, with great love and admiration for one another,” said Pitt and Aniston to People magazine.
Other celebrity couples like cricket heartthrob Imran Khan and Jewish heiress Jemima Goldsmith, or Hollywood favourites Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, continue to be close friends even after the marriage annulment.

But sometimes its worth a try !!!
While some have trouble letting go of the relationship, others have too many hard feelings to forgive and forget. With raging custody battles fought, the scope to forgive is also understandably little.

In fact in some cases, despite relatively decent break-ups, people have problems accepting that their partners can get along just as well without them.

It is rightly said: “To know the value of ten years, ask a newly divorced couple.” But just as every individual is unique, so are his/her relationships, and their own perception of the experience. What say?

Love letters 101

You know she’d like a little love note this time of year, but does the thought of putting pen to paper make you clam up? Get over it with these tips.
1. Short can be sweet
Letting a woman know you care about her doesn’t require you to fill 800 pages of parchment. Often, spontaneous little love notes make a bigger impression. So go ahead and send a funny Valentine’s Day card or another short form. Says Pam, 30, from Albany, New York: “I’m dating a guy who sends me postcards a lot. They’re great because they make me laugh and let me know he’s thinking of me.” When selecting a card, have fun. The goofier, the better — send one from the town you both live in! And the great thing is that rather than some intimidating big ol’ blank sheet of paper to fill, you’ve got this limited space that demands you write short and cute and get to the adorable point.
2. Use your standard vocabulary
We know, we know: We’ve all been raised to believe that a love letter should be written in verse with lots of flowery words. But leave the ere’s, whilst’s and whither’s to one side and use your everyday vocabulary. “I’d much rather hear that someone finds me as delightful as hot cocoa on a cold day than all that fake poetic stuff,” says Monica, 29, of Exeter, Massachusetts. “When a guy lays it on too thick, with the fancy language and rhymes, it just doesn’t feel as if he’s being sincere. I got a letter once that was so over-the-top, it really felt as if the guy was trying to convince himself that he had these big emotions, rather than truly communicating with me.” So speak from your heart, not a rhyming dictionary – tell her what she reminds you of, how her smile makes you feel – and you’ll win her over.
3. Win her over with the un-letter
Another path to her affection? Creativity. Send her a doodle you did while thinking of her, or design a faux fortune cookie insert with a message customized for her. Or try this idea from Fred, 38, of Austin, Texas: “Sometimes I’ll send my girlfriend silly little love notes — I’ll tear a photo of a puppy out of a magazine and send it to her with a Post-It on it saying something like, ‘Could this be cuter than you…? Impossible!’ just to cheer her up and let her know how I feel about her.”

Are you the kind who just can’t seem to get your act together — never have stamps on hand? Better to express a little love than none at all, so why not ditch the written form and leave her a voicemail or send an email. Even if it only amounts to, “Hey, thinking of you, Sunshine!” she’ll be happy to know she’s on your mind.
4. Learn the ABCs of L-O-V-E
In a recent Match.com poll, women sent a strong message about what doesn’t make their heart beat faster in an email message: Poor grammar and spelling. Observes Dr. Pat Love, Ed.d, author of The Truth About Love, “Correct spelling is important because women want to believe that the person they are dating is at least of average intelligence! And especially with email, spell checking doesn’t take any time to do. It’s easy. So if a man sends you an email full of typos, it says that he just dashed it off and sent it without giving it a second thought. That he doesn’t really care and he’s not taking it seriously.”
5. Jog her memory
If you’re feeling at a loss about what to say, use your shared moments as your fodder. By mentioning something that you two experienced together, you’re forging a stronger connection. Says David, 41, of Berkeley, California, “Sometimes I want to send a card, but it feels so impersonal to just sign it. What I usually do is refer back to our time together — I’ll say, the color of this envelope reminded me of that sweater you wore the night we met. Just something simple like that, and she tells me I’m the most romantic guy.”
6. Get too forward at your own risk
Remember, when someone is reading what you wrote, they can’t tell your tone of voice. Something that might sound sarcastic or goofy coming out of your mouth might look sleazy and just plain gross on paper. “Don’t get too romantic too quickly and certainly don’t use any sexual innuendos too soon,” cautions Pat. “Remember, females are designed to warm up slowly.” So until you really, really, really get to know one another, leave adjectives like “throbbing” to the Danielle Steeles of the world.

So what r u thinking guys.......... Make her feel special and she would give u the best she could ever... just make her feel special and u will also feel the same. !!!

Conversing about conversion

Dating someone from a different religion can be challenging, but marrying them can be more so, especially if converting is involved. Many people enter into relationships thinking they’ll keep them casual. So who cares if you’re of different faiths?
But what if you develop feelings and want to turn your short-term fling into a long-term thing? For some people, moving on to marriage might require conversion. And breaking that news isn’t something you can drop into dinner conversation.
If you’re asked why you pursued the relationship in the first place, don’t sugarcoat it: “I’m sorry. I just didn’t think this would get so serious. Please forgive me, but I can’t take this any further.”

Sure, your partner will be upset and might even hate you for it for awhile. But whatever bad feelings s/he has about you will be far less than the resentment and ill will generated from engaging in subterfuge or trying to live a lie.
Always Hurts.... but true..

10 Things You Should Know Before You Go into Space

President Bush has unveiled a plan to return astronauts to the Moon by 2015; after training there, the astronauts would head for Mars sometime later. But space is a tricky place to travel, even for astronauts who know what they're up against. Here are ten useful facts for the aspiring space traveler. The more you know, the further you'll go.
1. The gravitational pull of a black hole is so strong that everything that comes near it is ripped apart. The exact behavior of a black hole is not fully understood, but no known object or substance can escape from it. Not even light can escape. That's why a black hole is black, or rather, has a complete absence of color.
2. Major storms are common on Jupiter. Its most famous storm, the Great Red Spot, has been raging since telescopes were first aimed at the planet centuries ago.
3. Mars is home to the largest known volcano in the solar system, Olympus Mons. It is 26 km (16 mi) high (almost twice as high as Earth's Mount Everest) and covers an area about as large as the state of Arizona.
4. The surface temperature on Venus is extremely hot--about 462°C (864°F); hot enough to melt lead. To put this in perspective: lead melts at 328°C (662°F).
5. To reach outer space, you need to travel at least 80 km (50 mi) beyond Earth's surface.
6. The Voyager probes (launched in 1977) yielded some surprising information about Jupiter's moons. The most surprising discovery was that Io is covered with active volcanoes spewing ice and sulfur compounds into space. Io was the first celestial body other than Earth found to be geologically active.
7. Comets are icy wanderers that populate the solar system's outermost reaches. These "dirty snowballs" are chunks of ice and dust. When a comet ventures into the inner solar system, some of its ice evaporates.
8. In the vacuum of space, objects become intensely hot when exposed to the Sun and extremely cold when in the shadow of Earth or some other body.
9. The brightest star in the sky is Sirius. It is 51 trillion miles away from Earth, and is one of the closest stars to Earth. Another name for Sirius is Dog Star.
10. Neptune has the fastest winds in the solar system, reaching speeds of 2,000 km/hr (1,200 mi/hr).
